Strong Mentors Strong Girls
Strong Moms Strong Girls was proud to host over 60 mentors from Washtenaw County for a day-long training on March 19, 2010 in supporting girls to deal with Relational Aggression. Lyn Mikel Brown, Ed.D. and Anne Belden, MSW, from our ally Hardy Girls Healthy Women taught participants strategies to empower girls to be authentic, to resolve conflict constructively, to be allies to one another, and to advocate for change they believe in.
All Strong Mentors participants are invited to join the online learning community Hardy Girls hosts for anyone who has attended their Cultivating Hardiness Zones or Becoming a Muse trainings. Mentors can visit the Hardy Girls Healthy Women’s Learning Circle, http://hardygirlshealthywomen.ning.com.
As a member of the Hardy Girls Healthy Women Learning Circle, you will:
- Be connected to fellow and past participants of the trainings
- Have the opportunity to ask questions, brainstorm and troubleshoot with the entire online community including HGHW staff and volunteers
- Get invites to all future HGHW Training Institute events
- Have access to current and past forum discussions, posted articles, and recommended readings
