School Relational Aggression Workshops
Philosophy and Goals
Relational Aggression (RA) begins to develop in elementary school and peaks in middle school. Strong Moms Strong Girls believes in equipping older elementary school children with tools to help prevent the development of RA by emphasizing the power of positive alliances among female students. The student workshops occur during school hours. Interactive activities and hand-outs help girls recognize they are not alone in feelings of jealousy or insecurity.
Details
The workshop consists of:
- Two 90 minute workshops for female students in grades 4 or 5
- A 90 minute evening presentation for parents
- A 60 minute in-service for teachers and administrators
Strong Moms Strong Girls provides tools to parents and educators in order to assist girls with preventing RA and supporting positive alliances. We believe these tasks are best accomplished when communities work together. It is not a girls’ problem alone. Girls rely on their mentors and support system to teach and model healthy interaction patterns and relational skills.
Cost
$750 total for student, parent and educator workshops.
